CHANGING SCARBEE RICKENBACKER BASS NI OUTPUTS SOFTWARE
Need proof? Just do what I did years back: type ‘native instruments’ on certain specific sites related to software distribution. It is worth noting however that this is not a good move when it comes to reducing software piracy.

Sometimes there also may be a time-limit issue with a 30-minute running time in the free version, suggesting that the full version is not required for functional reasons but more like for making NI more money.

But as we know this is not the case, since only the full version of Kontakt enables in full all the scripting options needed to run the libraries. Were all my other Kontakt-based libraries running in the Player version, I would have probably switched to it already. But since Kontakt 2 I have noticed one thing: I rarely use most of its features. My problem with the full version of Kontakt is not that it was somehow a bad product: it’s not. And – as far as I know – NI does not skim thirty percent off of every Kontakt-based library sold: there is no vast iKontakt shop online, at least not yet. Then again, this is what you can do when you practically own a monopoly over something. And not in the free Kontakt Player but the full version. The scripting options included in Kontakt has seduced most of the big names in VST library business and a great number of smaller ones to set their products to run in Kontakt. Here is where Native Instruments have made their smartest, Apple-resembling move: make others follow your rules. First it was for me the go-to-solution for most of the sounds I used on tracks, but as other vendors have started to put out Kontakt-based libraries of their own, Kontakt has transformed into a host more like the main source, so to speak. Scarbee have already produced three excellent virtual bass guitars: J-Bass, Pre-Bass and MM-Bass (Jazz, Precision and Music Man). I have used NI Kontakt since its second rendition. I can't deny a frisson of eager anticipation whenever Native Instruments release a virtual instrument with the Scarbee branding. What I found changed the game when it comes to me and many others using VST instruments and libraries. Needless to say, the two search words I wrote were ‘native instruments’.

I didn’t find anything so I went back on Yahoo – the then-Google – and after a while I finally came up with these two search words I thought were the best ones for my purposes. Several years back, when I was just dipping my toes into the world of VST instruments, I was looking for ethnic flute and drum samples on this pirate site.
